FASHION CRIME

Don’t ever buy something that’s too big or too small just because it’s on sale or the only available size. Its usually ends up taking unnecessary space and effort. Altering the dress costs extra and in most cases,ruins the design. Make sure everything you buy fits you perfectly—you don’t want a too-tight miniskirt or a dress that’s two sizes too big! However if your are certain of your seamstress capabilities,then have it fit to size.

DARE TO MATCH PRINTS.

  When you dare to wear two prints at once, pay attention to the size and dimensions. Small patterns on the top look better with big patterns on bottom.. Otherwise, you’ll look too matchy-matchy.
  If you want to wear two super busy patterns at once, make sure one of them is an accessory. You can totally get away with crazy cheetah and fierce florals if one of the prints is on your shoes or bag.Pair your prints wisely to avoid looking like you got splashed in paint.

   DRESSING FOR YOUR BODY TYPE

Am looking at a picture and what comes to my mind is "oh lovely dress,awful picture". This is because the wrong body is wearing the right dress. You could even be wearing a N70,000  dress and look like a maid. Some people stubbonly stick to fashion trends that just aren’t for them. A majority of us just sincerely don't know what their body type is, thus hindering them to dress their shape the best way possible.
As Black women, our bodies come in all shapes and sizes. But when we sacrifice dressing our body types for fashion trends, we sacrifice looking our ultimate best.

The 5 Body Types:

Pear/Triangle:
Similar body type: Beyoncé.
Your Best Assets: Those wide. hips and small waistline

Hourglass:
Similar Body type: Kim Kardashian, Halle Berry
Your Best Assets: Your small waist and highly proportioned bust to hip ratio

Athletic/Rectangle:
Similar body type: Ciara.
Your Best Assets: Your naturally lean body, including toned legs, arms and stomach

Apple:
Similar body type: Oprah Winfrey, Queen Latifah.
Your Best Assets: Your bust and legs, which are usually thick and toned.

FLATS

I know a lot of women Who can't wear heels without loosing a tooth,although I insist in them learning,flats are a easy way out for them to be flat and chic at d same time.

Pointed Toe;
This will give the illusion of a high heel and lean leg without the discomfort. Pointed-toe flats look sharp and add class to almost any outfit you wear.

Look for a Statement-Making Embellishment;
Jewelled brooches,metals and studs can bring out your boss-like personality without looking too much.

Work That Pop of Colour;
 Stand out this summer with brightly colored flats that say"hey,am powerful". Power colors like orange, blue, red, and even yellow make daring statements without being over the top.

Prints and Textures;
Add some fun to your feet with chic prints and textures. Pair them with monochromatic pieces to create balance.

Go Subtle with Classic Nudes;
If textures and prints feel over the top for you , play it safe with classic colors like black, cream, white,pastels.

Sneak in a Slight Heel;
If wearing a flat is just not so elevating for you add a slight heel to create the illusion of height. You don’t have to go as high as a wedge; the one-inch heel will do the magic.

SMILE

Except you are on the  runway modelling for calvin klein, I see no reason why you shouldn't be wearing the biggest smile your face can handle. you don't have to wear your problems on your face. Smile that nasty problem away like it don't even matter and you would feel lighter. Wearing a smile always is the cheapest and effective make-up ever. Even runway models smile behind the stage. LOVE
AWFUL ORDOUR IN SHOES

You know that shoe that stinks so bad. If you don't want to go around town with people moving away from you like you got chicken pox,do this. Pour two or three tablespoons of baking soda into sweaty or (sorry)stinking shoes and tilt the shoe to distribute the soda evenly. leave it that way for a few hours. This will remove any foul odour and absorb perspiration.

JEANS

Jeans are arguably,the most widely accepted and patronised fashion item around the world. Almost everyone owns a jean,despite that majority of us never find our actual size-length or waist. Thus the need to tailor to size. Wash twice before having the length reduced,because real jean shrinks after washing. When getting jeans shortened, always ask your tailor to reattach the original hem. It may cost extra, but it’s worth it.
